I win again. In tennis. Fun times, as we both played well, but I guess I just played that much better…

Has the well run dry?

Returning to tennis.

After a 3-4 week absence of tennis, my mom and finally returned to the court. Luckily, we were not as rusty as one might expect. The great play was not reflected in a score of 6-2, in my favor. We both played well for that long of a layoff. Hopefully next we will only play better!

Pining Away

It was just too sticky out.

Today was hot, humid and tennis day. Tennis day definitely took a back seat to the weather, as it has been doing recently. I was being lazy, plus I didn’t want anyone, mom or I, to pass out as were playing, so we passed. We then thought of walking outside at the MetroParks, but again, the weather was just too sticky and gross out to even stand outside…let alone walk in it.

Finally, I came up with the idea of walking inside Beachwood Place. We wouldn’t shop, eat, anything, simply “power walk” around the mall a few times. Let me tell you, the air conditioning was great. No heat, no yuck, nothing. We walked for about 45 minutes or so and actually got a nice pace going. As we were finishing, I definitely started to feel the burn. A nice walk and a nice work-out.

As we walked, I would randomly take pictures of whatever I found interesting. Today’s photo comes to us courtesy of Beachwood Place’s newly designed food court. They have some new fangled lights that look really cool, so I took a photo of them. As my mom says, they look like they are floating, but of course they are not…cause that would just be weird.

Anyways, here is today’s A Photo A Day. Enjoy it.

Floating

Guess what? I won.

Tonight, neither my mom nor I wanted to play tennis, but we did and we played our best match of the summer. The final score was 6-4, but it definitely could have gone the other way. Next week, hopefully we will improve on this week and continue to become better tennis players!

Prior to the match, I took this photo on the path to the local tennis courts. Looks good to me…hopefully you agree!

The Road Less Traveled

I like this photo.

So I chose it as today’s A Photo A Day. It was taken after a rousing game of tennis between my mother and I. We are getting better, and it is really enjoyable, a great combination.

If you look closely, behind the fence, you will see a young man winding up as he pitches in a rec league baseball game. It looked like a lot of fun, but so did the T-Ball game I watched in between the tennis match. Little kids running to get the baseball is definitely adorable.

Anyways, it is time for bed, so enjoy today’s photo! Until tomorrow…

New Categories

As you can see, I have modified and added categories to my blog. In addition, I have gone back through all my posts and added these new tags to all of my previous posts. Hopefully, by doing this, my blog will begin to rise up Google’s search rankings. As of now, this site is not even a blip on Google’s radar, which sucks. One of these days…

Anyways, onto today’s photo. It was a slow day so I walked around outside trying to find a photo. I found a tennis ball sitting on our front lawn, snapped a few pictures, and voila, you have today’s photo. I snapped a ton of other photos too, but this was the best one! Enjoy it…

Wednesday Tennis

Posted by shane On June - 13 - 2007ADD COMMENTS

Again, tonight was tennis night. Again, tonight the courts were busy. However, unlike last week, there was one court just waiting to be played on by mom and I. Tonight was probably the best we played since we started this summer. We ran, we hit, and I won, 6-4. It was fun, and hopefully we will only improve next week. I really do need to work on my serve…

Here is tonight’s photo, taken after the wonderful tennis match wore us out!

I am really tired.

So, therefore, this entry will be extremely short. Tonight, my mom and I went to play tennis, as we do every Wednesday, except tonight was different. It was a great night, not too cold, but not too hot and perfect for tennis. That is the reason, when we arrived at the courts, they were all taken. No tennis tonight.

In the time when we would have been playing, mom and I hunted for pictures. After taking pictures of the swings, sand volleyball court, and lonely shoes, I took pictures of a baseball field through some trees, highlighted by the sun. Of course, in the end product, the baseball field is not truly visible, but that is not the point, the trees and sun are. After the fake tennis match, and photographs, I went on to spend lots of mom’s money at the grocery store buying “healthy food products.” Anyways, enjoy Long Shadows.

Long Shadows

No racquetball tonight.

As most of you know, racquetball is played inside, and tennis is not. Therefore, when it is sunny outside, it seems kinda silly to play a game inside, when there is a possibility of playing a similar game outside.

Every Wednesday night, my mom and I, play racquetball. However, recently, we haven’t been silly and have chosen the outside game, tennis. The last time we played, we both were rusty, and played with balls that had been deflated for years. It was a rough go, but it was definitely fun. Tonight, we returned to the courts with brand new balls with a great bounce. We both still were rusty, but better than the previous time. In no time, we both will be amazing tennis players! Ok, so maybe not amazing, but definitely good.

As usual, I brought my camera tonight, and snapped photos from the court to the baseball field to the sky. You can see below, which one I have chosen…

Sky

When I began my photography hobby, about 3 years ago, one of my favorite subjects was the sky. So far, for A Photo A Day, I have only taken one picture of a sky, and that included Cleveland’s skyline. I have remedied that problem by taking another photo of the sky, after finishing up with a rousing game of racquetball against my mother. I believe that the telephone pole, and angle, helps make the photo more interesting and unique. Hopefully, you agree with that belief. Alas, until tomorrow…
